A free monthly support group for people living with tinnitus will launch in Rotherham on Monday 2 November.

Tinnitus UK will hold the first meeting from noon to 2pm at Rotherham Sight & Sound, 8 Ship Hill, S60 2HG. Partners and family members are also welcome.

The Sheffield-based charity says the group will give people an opportunity to meet others with similar experiences, access information and discuss day-to-day ways of living with the condition.

A place to meet others

The group will be led by Ruairidh Burras, a member of Tinnitus UK’s services team who also supports people through its helpline and helps run a group at the charity’s Sheffield offices.

Burras said: “We want the Rotherham group to be a welcoming place where people can share their experiences, ask questions, access reliable information and learn from one another.”

He said partners and relatives are welcome because attending together can help them understand the experience of living with tinnitus.

According to the charity, the new group will be the first publicly accessible tinnitus support group in Rotherham since a previous group stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How to attend

The first meeting is on Monday 2 November 2026, from noon to 2pm, with further meetings planned monthly. Attendance is free and booking is recommended.
