Rotherham residents are invited to attend the annual Remembrance Sunday commemoration on Sunday 8 November at Clifton Park, honouring fallen servicemen and women from past and recent conflicts.

The parade will depart from outside the Garden House at 10:35am and include civic dignitaries, veterans, uniformed groups and represented organisations. The procession will pass through the park towards the Fun Park and Bandstand before reaching the Cenotaph War Memorial.

The Service

Reverend Canon Phil Batchford from Rotherham Minster will lead the Act of Remembrance, which includes the national two-minute silence and wreath laying at the Cenotaph War Memorial. Mayor Cllr Haroon Rashid and Rotherham Council Leader Cllr Chris Read will lay wreaths on behalf of the borough.

Members of the public are welcome to lay their own wreaths after the formal ceremony. The parade will then return to the Garden House, where His Majesty's representative, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire and the Mayor of Rotherham will take the salute.

Parking is available at Clifton Park car park, accessed via Doncaster Road. Alternative free parking can be found in Rotherham Town Centre, a short walk from the park. Clifton Park Museum car park will have no public parking available until 12pm on Sunday 8 November.
